Public health has become a pressing concern in modern society. Some people claim that the number of sports facilities should be increased to improve people’s health, while others believe that they have a minimal effect. From where I stand, I firmly believe that sports facilities can improve public health but the more important thing is to raise people’s health awareness. This essay will discuss both views and present several reasons. On the one hand, we cannot deny the fact that it is a great way to improve people’s physical health by installing more sports facilities. This is because they can provide individuals with more opportunities to exercise. When governments increase a variety of sports facilities, individuals can have access to them. For example, some people attempt to improve their health but find going to a gym unaffordable for them. As a result, they may choose to stay at home and not exercise more, which can have a negative influence on their health. Indeed, expanding access to sports facilities can make a significant contribution to public health. On the other hand, it is difficult to improve people’s health by increasing the number of these facilities. As most individuals have a busy lifestyle, they are not aware of the importance of health regardless of the number of sports facilities. For instance, in people’s free time, spending more time working or studying is common for them because of a lack of health awareness. Consequently, they may face an increased risk of chronic conditions such as diabetes. Although there are different sports facilities, residents will not use them because they cannot understand the importance of keeping health. In conclusion, it is evident that increasing the number of sports facilities is necessary, but every citizen should understand why they need to be involved in various sports. Therefore, it is recommended that governments should take action to invest in more sports facilities to improve public health and promote the importance of maintaining good health which can encourage individuals to engage in sports activities.
