Where Strategy Becomes
Measured Practice
IELTS Advantage is one of the most respected IELTS strategy sites online, and its guides are genuinely useful for understanding the exam. Strategy alone does not build the reflexes test day demands. IELTSbiz is where you drill it, get marked, and watch the band move.
The short answer
IELTS Advantage has earned its reputation as one of the most thorough IELTS strategy resources on the web — it covers every question type in depth and is an excellent starting point if the test is new to you. It is fundamentally a content site rather than a practice platform: it teaches you what to do, but it cannot generate fresh passages, mark your answers, or track how your band changes. IELTSbiz is built for the stage after that — unlimited generated passages, a named trap on every wrong answer, and an estimated band per reading question type. Read the strategy there; build the skill here.
- IELTS Advantage is stronger on written strategy and course teaching, and free to read.
- IELTSbiz is where the strategy gets applied, marked and measured.
- Unlimited fresh passages instead of static articles and worked examples.
- A band per reading question type shows whether the strategy is actually working.
Choose IELTSbiz if…
- You understand the strategy and need to drill it
- You want unlimited practice passages
- You want live feedback on your own answers
- You want free practice without buying a course
Choose IELTS Advantage if…
- You are new to IELTS and want the format explained
- You prefer in-depth written strategy guides
- You want a paid course with a teacher

Where strategy articles reach their ceiling
IELTS Advantage covers every question type in depth, explains common mistakes and gives structured guidance for candidates at all levels. For someone new to IELTS it is an excellent starting point. What a content site cannot do is the part that actually moves a band:
Practice, not just theory
Reading how to approach Matching Headings is step one. Drilling twenty Matching Headings sessions on fresh passages — and seeing exactly which trap caught you each time — is what moves the score.
Per-type drilling on demand
Articles cover each question type once. IELTSbiz generates a full practice session for any single type, so you can target your weakest area until it becomes a strength.
Measurement you can act on
A guide cannot tell you your band, or that True/False/Not Given is two bands below everything else. IELTSbiz tracks an estimated band for each of the 11 reading types from your own answers.

Why serious test-takers choose IELTSbiz
Apply the strategy to material you have not seen
A fresh, Cambridge-difficulty passage every session means you are testing whether the method works, not whether you remember the worked example.
Drill one type until it stops costing you
Generate an entire session of your weakest question type instead of meeting it once per article, and watch that type’s band close the gap.
Trap-level feedback, not trap descriptions
Articles describe traps in the abstract. IELTSbiz names the one that caught you, on your answer, beside the evidence in the passage.
Free interactive practice, no course required
Every paper keeps a free allowance with no card. Pro is $6.99/month or $29 once — well under the price of a structured course.
About IELTSbiz
IELTSbiz is an AI-powered IELTS preparation platform built around one idea: measured progress you can trust. It covers all four papers. Reading and Listening are written fresh rather than drawn from a bank of past papers, and are marked against an answer key — the same answers always produce the same band, so a rise in your score is progress rather than a different marker on a different day. Writing and Speaking are marked criterion by criterion for an estimated band — accurate enough to aim at, and reported as an estimate rather than an examiner’s verdict.
Reading goes deepest, because it is where most candidates quietly lose marks. Every wrong answer is labelled with the trap that caused it — Partial Truth, Extreme Language, Opposite Meaning, Outside Text, Distractor Word or Temporal Confusion — and shown beside the line of the passage that settles it. Your estimated band is then tracked separately for each of the 11 reading question types, so “reading is my weak skill” becomes “Matching Headings is my weak type”. When you want the whole paper, there is a full 40-question Reading test under a 60-minute clock, and a guided four-skill mock.
That measurement focus runs through everything we build. Our AI grading was validated in a study of 1,200 Writing Task 2 essays against certified examiners, and every guide on the site is written by our named editorial team and checked against official sources — you can read exactly how in our editorial policy. We sell trust and measurement, not hype: no band guarantee, and no accuracy percentage we have not published the method for.
What costs nothing: all four papers, within an allowance. Reading and Listening practice are free every day with full trap-level feedback, and Writing and Speaking are marked against the official criteria free every month. A 7-day trial raises those allowances rather than being the only thing that unlocks them — when it ends they drop back, they do not drop to zero. The one exception is the Band 8 Writing Trainer, whose marking is Pro only and which the trial does not include. Pro is $6.99/month or $29 once for lifetime access. The band-score calculator, the daily Word Coach and the Speaking cue cards are free to use. IELTSbiz is independent and is not affiliated with IDP, the British Council, or Cambridge, who jointly own and deliver the IELTS test.
