Short answer: IELTSbiz is worth it if you are preparing on your own and want every piece of practice marked, with your band tracked by question type, for a low price - every paper is free within a monthly allowance, and Pro is from $7.99/month or from $50 lifetime.
It is not the right choice if you need live classes, a teacher's timetable, or offline study.
Disclosure, and it matters more here than anywhere: this review is written by the IELTSbiz team about our own product. We have not given ourselves a star rating, because a score from the maker is not a review.
Instead we describe what the product does and does not do, in terms you can check in a free account in under an hour, and we link to independent comparisons where they exist.
What is IELTSbiz?
IELTSbiz is an IELTS preparation web app. It runs in any browser on a phone or laptop, with nothing to install, and covers all four papers for Academic and General Training.
Its core idea is measured practice: every answer you give is marked, every mistake is explained, and your estimated band is tracked over time - by question type in Reading, by criterion in Writing and Speaking - so you can see what is improving and what is not.
What you get, paper by paper
Reading. Unlimited fresh Cambridge-style passages, organised by all 11 question types, so you can drill one format at a time. Every wrong answer returns trap-level feedback - the distractor that caught you and why the right answer wins. A full Reading test is exactly 40 marks under a 60-minute clock.
Listening. Parts 1 to 4, one play only, marked to a band, including curated guided tests and practice by question type.
Writing. The Writing Checker marks Task 1 and Task 2 on all four official criteria and quotes the sentence behind every correction. For Academic Task 1 you can upload the chart so your figures are checked against it; General Training letters are marked against their register.
The Band 8 Writing Trainer teaches every essay type, Task 1 visual and letter register, then marks your paragraphs one by one.
Speaking. Parts 1 to 3 marked from what you said on all four criteria, with pronunciation labelled as an estimate. A live Speaking mock with a member of the IELTSbiz team adds a human listener.
Across all four. A 35-minute mini mock that diagnoses all four skills and builds a study plan; a guided four-skill mock ending in an estimated overall band; a free progress dashboard; a daily Word Coach; and a free Band Score Calculator.
What is free and what Pro adds
Every paper is free within a monthly allowance, with no card. The allowance does not disappear: if you never pay, you keep practising within it. Your band and per-type analytics on the dashboard are free for everyone. The first mini mock is free.
Pro removes the practice limits and adds the Band 8 Writing Trainer's marking, new mini mock sittings, and one live Speaking session a month.
Prices quoted on our static pages are the lowest available, so they carry "from": Pro is from $7.99/month, $19.99 for three months, or from $50 lifetime, and the pricing page shows the exact price for your country.
In Bangladesh you can pay in taka with bKash (৳850 for a month), and anyone signed in can buy a single live Speaking session from $3.
Who IELTSbiz suits
Self-study candidates who want to know exactly where they lose marks. Learners stuck at a band - 6.0, 6.5 - who need to find the one question type or criterion holding them back.
Candidates on a budget who need unlimited Reading practice and regular Writing and Speaking marking for less than a single tutored hour a month. Anyone preparing on a phone in short sessions.
Who should look elsewhere
If you need a teacher and a timetable, a live-class platform such as E2 or a local coaching centre will suit you better.
If you want concepts explained in your first language on video, a course like 10 Minute School (Bangla) or Magoosh (English) is the better starting point, ideally paired with marked practice. If you study offline, IELTSbiz will not work for you.
The limits we would want to know about
- Web app only. No native app and no offline mode; you can add it to your home screen.
- Estimates, not official scores. Writing and Speaking bands are estimates, and we label them that way. Only the real test gives an official result.
- Generated Reading. Passages are newly written in the Cambridge style, not retired past papers. Use official practice tests for authenticity checkpoints.
- No scheduled classes. The only live human element is the Speaking session.
- Trainer marking is Pro-only. One essay type's lessons are free to read; marking inside the Trainer is not part of the free tier or the trial.
How IELTSbiz compares
Head-to-head comparisons are on our IELTSbiz vs Magoosh, IELTSbiz vs IELTS Liz and IELTSbiz vs IELTS Advantage pages. For the wider field, our rankings of the best IELTS preparation platforms and best IELTS websites set IELTSbiz beside every major alternative, with their strengths stated.
Verdict
IELTSbiz is built for one kind of candidate: someone who will do the practice and wants every attempt marked, explained and counted.
For that candidate it covers more of the test, more cheaply, than anything else we know of - and you can check that claim without paying, because every paper is free within the monthly allowance. Start with the free mini mock and decide from your own results.
