Kestrel Valley Holiday Park — Guest Information

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE. Lodges are ready from 4pm and must be vacated by 10am. Late departure until 1pm may be arranged the day before at a charge of twenty pounds, subject to availability. Keys are collected from the reception building, which is staffed until 8pm; guests arriving later should use the key safe, and the code is sent by text on the morning of arrival.
THE POOL AND GYM. The indoor pool is open from 7am to 9pm. Children under eight must be accompanied in the water by an adult at all times, and the pool has no lifeguard. The gym is for guests aged sixteen and over. Both close for cleaning between 1pm and 2pm on weekdays. Towels are provided in the lodges and should not be taken to the pool; pool towels are available at reception for a refundable deposit.
DOGS. Two dogs per lodge are welcome in the lodges marked as dog-friendly at the time of booking, at a charge of twelve pounds per dog per stay. Dogs must not be left alone in a lodge at any time. They are not permitted in the restaurant, the pool building or the play area, and must be kept on a lead everywhere except the fenced field beyond the car park.
SHOP AND RESTAURANT. The site shop opens from 8am to 6pm and stocks basic groceries, gas canisters and firewood. The restaurant serves from 6pm to 9pm and takes bookings, which are advisable at weekends and in school holidays. Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am and does not require a booking. The restaurant is closed on Mondays outside the summer season.
WASTE AND RECYCLING. Each lodge has one bin for general waste and one for mixed recycling. Glass is not collected from the lodges and must be taken to the bottle bank beside the car park. Guests staying more than a week should place bins at the end of the path on Wednesday mornings. Charcoal and ash must be left to cool completely and placed in the metal bins provided, never in a lodge bin.
PROBLEMS AND EMERGENCIES. Faults should be reported to reception during staffed hours and to the on-call number displayed inside each lodge door at other times. The on-call service is for genuine emergencies such as loss of heating, water or power, and not for routine matters. The nearest pharmacy is in Kestrel Bridge, four miles away, and the nearest hospital with an emergency department is at Aldenham, twenty-two miles away.
