The free tier, open to anyone with an account, includes a 50-minute Mini Mock Test with AI feedback and an estimated band, two full IELTS mock tests with feedback and model answers, short guided preparation modules, and podcasts and webinars.
IELTS Ready Premium, free when you book with the British Council, adds 40 full practice tests with scores and model answers (plus optional AI feedback), a 25-minute Express Mock Test with AI feedback across all four skills, self-study courses, live and on-demand webinars, question-type practice and a personalised dashboard.
Some regional British Council pages still describe an earlier six-test Member package and a "worth US$170" Premium value, so check your local page. Institutions buy Road to IELTS from ClarityEnglish on request.
Who is Road to IELTS for?
Candidates who have booked (or will book) with the British Council, first and foremost - for them it is effectively free official prep, and turning it down makes little sense. It also suits candidates who value provenance: every activity reflects the test maker's own question style, so nothing you practise will be off-format.
It is less suited to being your complete preparation if you are chasing a specific band jump. Structured content plus right/wrong marking gets you familiar; it does not tell you why the same question types keep beating you.

Road to IELTS earns an 8/10 on trust, volume and price. As official preparation that most of its users get free, it would be strange not to use it - the content is authentic by definition and structured with care.
The missing points are the same ones that run through this genre: measurement. The course marks answers; it does not diagnose patterns.
And Writing and Speaking - the sections candidates misjudge worst - receive teaching, with AI assessment of your own performances limited to the Mini Mock, the Express Mock and optional feedback on the Premium tests.
