Short answer: the best AI IELTS mock test in 2026 is IELTSbiz's guided four-skill mock, because it marks Writing and Speaking on all four official criteria and converts your totals into one estimated overall band the way the real test does.
The best free official mock is the British Council's IELTS Ready; TestGlider and KeenIELTS are the fastest AI scorers; Magoosh suits learners who also want video lessons.
Disclosure: IELTSbiz is our product, and we rank it first. The criteria below are the ones we would use on anyone's mock, including ours, and each competitor gets credit where it is stronger.
An AI IELTS mock test is a full practice exam in which software marks the parts a computer cannot mark with an answer key - Writing and Speaking - and reports an estimated band for each skill and overall.
Reading and Listening have fixed answers, so any mock can score them; the "AI" part only earns its name on the two productive skills.

How we ranked these AI mock tests
Three checks decide most of the ranking. First, does it mark Writing and Speaking on the four official criteria, separately? A single overall writing number cannot tell you whether Task Response or Grammar is the problem.
Second, is each section full length? Third, does the overall band come from your totals, the way IELTS converts raw scores, or from averaging guesses?
The second check is the one most mocks fail quietly. IELTS converts Reading and Listening raw marks out of 40 using a ratio table.
Shrink the paper and the arithmetic breaks: on a 5-item set the only reachable bands are 3.5, 4.0, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0 and 9.0, so one lucky guess jumps you a full band. A "mock" built from short sets will flatter or punish you at random.
Full-length sections are not a luxury; they are what makes the number mean anything. Our guide to running a real test simulation lists the other conditions.
1. IELTSbiz - Best AI mock for a trustworthy overall band
The IELTSbiz guided four-skill mock runs Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking in exam order and ends in an estimated overall band. Reading is a full 40-mark paper and Listening uses one-play audio, both marked by an answer key.
Writing is marked on Task Achievement or Task Response, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource and Grammatical Range and Accuracy, and every correction quotes the sentence it is about, so you can check the feedback against your own script.
Speaking is marked on all four criteria, with pronunciation labelled as estimated.
The overall band is calculated once in code from your section results, not averaged from section estimates by a model. The clock is anchored to the server, so a reload or a throttled tab does not hand you extra minutes.
If you want a faster first read, the 35-minute mini mock samples all four skills, reports each as a range rather than a false-precision band, and builds a study plan from your weakest areas - your first sitting is free.
Pricing: free users get a mock allowance with no card; Pro is from $7.99/month, $19.99 for three months, or from $50 lifetime. The honest limits: it is a practice estimate, not an official score, and it runs in the browser rather than as a native app.
2. British Council IELTS Ready - Best free official mock
IELTS Ready is the British Council's own preparation hub.
As of September 2026 the free tier gives a 50-minute Mini Mock Test with AI feedback and an estimated band, two full mock tests with feedback and model answers, and short guided modules; booking your test through the British Council unlocks many more.
For authenticity of material it cannot be beaten. The limit is volume: two full mocks go quickly. Our IELTS Ready review sets out the tiers.
3. TestGlider - Best for the fastest full AI grading
TestGlider grades full mock tests in under a minute, Writing and Speaking included, which suits candidates who want a quick read on a whole sitting. Free trial tests show you the format; paid use runs on plans and correction credits, which reward planning how many mocks you will actually sit. See the TestGlider review.
4. KeenIELTS - Best free AI-marked mock
KeenIELTS is free and ad-supported on web, Android and iPhone, and it adds AI scoring of Writing and Speaking to its mocks. On a zero budget it is the most complete AI mock available. Expect ads, and lighter explanations than a tool that quotes your sentences back to you.
5. ieltsonlinetests - Best free Reading and Listening mock library
ieltsonlinetests has a very large free library of Reading and Listening mocks, with AI Writing and Speaking marking from $4.99. It is the cheapest way to get timed full papers in volume. The free tier carries ads, and Reading feedback is answer-key only. Our ieltsonlinetests review compares the tiers.
6. Magoosh IELTS - Best mocks bundled with lessons
Magoosh pairs 10 mock tests and AI Writing and Speaking grading with 120+ video lessons, at $109 for one month or $129 for six as of September 2026. It is good value if you want to be taught as well as tested.
If you only want mocks, it is an expensive way to get ten. See the Magoosh IELTS review.
7. IELTS.GG (GoPrep) - Best app-first AI mock
IELTS.GG, now trading as GoPrep, offers AI feedback inside a polished app. Its US App Store listing prices Premium at $19.49 a month, $26.99 a quarter or $74.99 a year as of September 2026, with website plans priced inside sign-up. Check the current price for your region before you subscribe.
How often should you sit an AI mock?
Every one to two weeks, not every day. A mock measures; it does not teach. The work that raises your band happens between mocks, on the question types and criteria the last mock exposed.
Sit a mock, spend as long reviewing it as you spent sitting it, then drill the weakest two areas until the next one.
Save one full mock for the final week, under exactly the conditions of your real test day, and use the result to decide whether to keep your date.
If the gap to your target is more than half a band in one skill, our guide to predicting your band before test day explains when moving the booking costs less than a retake.
