I'd like to talk about my aunt, who's a nurse at a large public hospital. I've known her all my life, of course, but I only really started to appreciate her a few years ago. During the pandemic, she was working long night shifts, often for weeks without a proper break. She'd come home completely drained, but she never once complained. What I admire most is her calmness. However stressful things get, she somehow manages to stay patient with everyone around her, from frightened patients to junior colleagues. She's also incredibly modest. If you ask her about her work, she just shrugs and says she was doing her job. I suppose she's shown me that you don't need to be famous to make a real difference in people's lives.
