There's a botanical garden on the edge of my city that I try to visit at least once a month. It's surprisingly big, with a lake in the middle and walking paths that wind through different sections, like a rose garden and a greenhouse full of tropical plants. I usually go on Sunday mornings, when it's still cool and not too crowded. Sometimes I take a book and sit by the water, and sometimes I just walk and listen to music. What I love about it is how quickly it calms me down. Within minutes of arriving, I've forgotten whatever was worrying me. It's also one of the few places in the city where you can actually hear birds instead of traffic. I think every city needs spaces like that, and I worry that this one might be built on one day.
