The celebration I remember best is my grandparents' golden wedding anniversary, which we held about three years ago. My parents and I organised it as a surprise, which was quite a challenge because my grandmother notices everything! We booked a room in a local restaurant and invited dozens of relatives, some of whom had travelled from abroad. When my grandparents walked in and everyone stood up and cheered, my grandfather was completely lost for words. Later in the evening, my cousins put together a slideshow of old photographs, starting from their wedding day. There were pictures I'd never seen before, and it was fascinating to see them as young people with their whole lives ahead of them. I think it stays with me because it was the last time the whole family was together in one place. My grandfather passed away the following year, so those memories mean even more to me now.
